Mike Kidd

Hey, I’m Mike. I build digital experiences, whether that’s an app people pick up every day, a website that tells a story, or a brand that sticks in your head.

Here's a bit about me...

I’ve been making digital stuff for over 20 years, working as both a designer and developer. I originally wanted to be an illustrator, which led me into animation and crafting interfaces, before quickly finding myself deep in code — from ActionScript and Objective-C to Swift, JavaScript, and the usual web stack too. I’ve always worked with an eye for detail and the end user firmly in mind.

Before KidDotCo, I was part of the Digital Design, UX and Apps team at MTV/Viacom, and more recently a Software Engineer in the Global Graphics team at Paramount, building solutions for linear channels including Nickelodeon, Paramount MTV, and Channel 5.

What really fires me up is making things that feel effortless to use — elegant design backed by code that just works. I’m endlessly curious, love solving tricky problems, and believe the difference between a good product and a great one comes down to thoughtful execution.

When I’m not building something, you’ll usually find me being a dad to two energetic girls, tinkering with Lego, or trying (and mostly failing) to learn the guitar.

What I Bring to KidDotCo

  • Design-first thinking: Every project starts with understanding people – not pixels.
  • Engineering precision: Beautiful interfaces that are backed by robust code.
  • User experience obsession: If it doesn’t feel right, it isn’t finished.
  • Creative versatility: From apps to websites, games to brands – I enjoy the whole journey.
